SNOM-Videos

With an optical nearfield spectroscope it is possible to make interesting animations by varying the detection wavelength. This page shows a number of photoluminescence measurements on optical semiconductors. All measurements are from the Institute of Applied Physics, Technical University Braunschweig. The basis of the SNOM set-up is a DME DualScope™ DS45-40 Scanner.

Every animation was made from the data of one single measurement.

  • "Flashing Quantum Dots"

  • Scratched semiconductor structure

  • InGaN-LED at room temperature

  • Uneven laterally growing InGaN structure

  • Laterally growing Gallium-Nitrid structure at a temperature of app. 50 K

  • Laterally growing Indium-Gallium-Nitrid structure

  • Blue displaced InGaN facets

  • Individual InGaN-Quantum film on laterally growing structure
